Two decades after being paralyzed in a domestic violence incident, Erika Bogan uses her wheelchair to climb the largest free-standing mountain in the world - Mt. Kilimanjaro - to help raise awareness about the mental health struggles plaguing both her and the disability community at large.

About Meandering Scars
MEANDERING SCARS follows Erika Bogan - a mother, wheelchair athlete, former Ms. Wheelchair America 2010, and domestic violence survivor - as she attempts to accomplish what only a handful of wheelchair users have ever done: climb to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Her purpose: to save lives by raising awareness about suicide and suicidal ideation within the disabled community, all while honoring her friends and family lost to suicide.
The documentary is not just about Erika climbing the tallest freestanding mountain in the world with that message; it's about Erika's journey as a disabled person in America. It is about how inaccessibility, perceived burdensomeness, and financial turmoil due to a faulty system contributed to her deteriorating mental health and suicidal ideation.
